Hannah w Craig

I’m Hannah, and I’m an art jeweller and silversmith living & working in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I recently completed an artist residency at the Nova Scotia Centre for Craft, where I continued to learn and refine the ancient silversmithing technique of chasing and repoussé and created a new collection of chasing and repoussé art jewellery with the generous support of Arts Nova Scotia.

Through a visual focus on insect motifs and unusual gemstones, I explore fantasies where the otherworldly and the deeply human intersect. My practice encourages reflection on the topic of ‘environment’ both in the sense of our interconnected physical ecologies, as well as our own unique psycho-spiritual landscapes.
